A Case Study in Engineering Excellence: Vimoter & Evitalia

28 April 2026

One of the most significant partnerships consolidated over the past year is with Evitalia Srl. Founded in 2022 in Grumolo delle Abbadesse (Vicenza), the company entered the market with a robust and innovative proposition: a range of multi-purpose electric utility vehicles designed for maximum durability under heavy-duty conditions.

The Evitalia vehicle stands out for its ability to operate on challenging terrain and steep gradients while maintaining a top speed of 80 km/h for road use. This unique combination of power and speed required a superior braking system, and that is where Vimoter came in.

We strongly believe in Evitalia’s vision, and we were graciously welcomed by Mr. Carraro (Owner) and Paolo Buffo (Technical Manager) to conduct this case study and further strengthen our collaboration.

The Challenge: Performance Beyond the Standard

Although Evitalia had been a client for some time, the turning point in our partnership occurred during Bauma 2025, when the company turned to us to find a viable alternative to the braking unit then in use. The previous system exhibited significant structural issues, caused by both a brake caliper that was undersized relative to the vehicle's mass and friction materials subject to premature wear. These conditions could not guarantee the performance required for the rigorous applications for which the vehicle is intended.

The Vimoter Solution: Quality and Engineering Flexibility
Vimoter leveraged its expertise to propose an integrated system—comprising calipers, brake discs, and cabling—ensuring total component compatibility. The development process was driven by meticulous technical analysis:
  1. Initially, the 4x40 caliper was tested; however, it proved unsuitable as the friction material could not guarantee sufficiently safe braking at the target speed of 80 km/h.
  2. Our engineers worked to resolve this discrepancy, identifying the 2x44 brake caliper. as the ideal solution.
  3. To complete the kit, we supplied the cabling and a brake disc manufactured to the client’s exclusive specifications.

The Load Test

The final validation of the solution was achieved through an extreme load test: a 6,000 kg airport trailer was hitched to the 3,000 kg vehicle, resulting in a total mass of 9,000 kg.

The Result: Under steep gradient conditions where previous systems had failed, the Vimoter braking unit performed brilliantly. The test confirmed total vehicle safety even under the highest levels of operational stress.
